Europe Tour Day 1Arrival in Zurich and check-in into your hotel. Overnight in Zurich.
Europe Tour Day 2Arrival in Zermatt by rail journey to the wonderful Valais, either via the Lötschberg base tunnel directly to Visp and further to Zermatt. Afternoon Excursion to Gornergrat: The popular Gornergrat Bahn, Europe’s highest open-air cogwheel railway, takes you up to the Gornergrat 9.339 km away. On the Gornergrat viewing platform you are surrounded by 29 peaks rising to above 4000 m. Overnight in Zermatt.
Europe Tour Day 3Today you board the Glacier Express Premium which is one of the greatest train journeys in the world. You travel from Zermatt to St. Moritz. A 71/2 hour railway journey across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2’033 metres in altitude. Travel in comfort through the unspoilt natural beauty of a landscape rich in ancient, fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries old culture. Europe Tour Day 4:Train transfer to Zurich and check-in into your hotel. Best of Zurich City Tour (2 hours): Visit the ever-efficient business and cultural hub of Switzerland on this coach tour showcasing Zurich at its best. Sit back and relax as your expert guide points out city highlights and must-see attractions including the medieval Old Town off Limmatquai, the Bahnhofstrasse shopping street and the National Museum. Make a brief stop by Lake Zurich before boarding the Dolderbahn (cog-wheel railway) to the Zurichberg district. Look out for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, whose most famous student and professor was Albert Einstein. Admire the Chagall windows on Fraumunster Church before your Best of Zurich City Tour concludes in the Old Town. Your next tour departs from the Sihlquai Bus Terminal. Zurich West including the Lindt Chocolate Factory Outlet tour (3 hours): Starting out in Zurich West, you’ll take a walking tour through the streets and see old industrial warehouses which have turned into nightclubs and smart boutiques. Your expert guide will be on hand to entertain you with stories about Zurich West’s historical links to the engineering industry, and describe how it’s industrial past has shaped its modern day culture. You will then continue your journey south of Zurich to the village of Kilchberg, near Lake Zurich. You will finally enjoy a relaxing boat ride (summer only), departing from Brkliplatz around Lake Zurich. In the winter season, as the boat is not running, you’ll enjoy a hot beverage at the Swiss-Gourmet Restaurant “Gnsserei” located in the former casting house. Europe Tour Day 6Day to explore Bled which was discovered by the tourists in the middle of the 19th century, after a Swiss doctor, Mr Arnold Rikli, had built a climactic health center there. Bled is often mentioned as the pearl of the Alpine region. It is unique with its emerald-green lake, a church on the island in the middle of the lake and a medieval castle from the 11th century, perched on a cliff above the lake. After a bus ride around the lake a guided tour of Bled castle will start. Then you will be taken by Bled’s typical ‘pletna’ boat to the island. Duration: 5 hours Departure Time: 9AM / 1PM Overnight in Ljubljana.
Europe Tour Day 7When staying in the Alpine resort of Bled, take some time to visit the Mediterranean world of the coastal region of Slovenia. We invite you to join us to visit the most beautiful and the oldest Slovenian coastal town Piran, where you can admire its charming Venetian architecture. Our first stop will be in a small fishing town of Izola, where we board a boat to take us along the coast to Piran. A walking tour through the medieval town of Piran will take place and afterwards you will have plenty of time to take a swim in the Adriatic or have lunch in one of the numerous fresh fish restaurants. A contrast to the historic Piran represents Portoro, the most popular Slovene coastal resort, which you can discover during your free time. Europe Tour Day 8Train transfer to Vienna and check-in into your hotel. In evening Capture mesmerizing city views of Vienna and combine these with good food and wine for a memorable tour of Viennese nightlife. Your guided tour starts with a drive along the Ringstrasse to the Prater, a Viennese amusement park. Here, you have the opportunity to board the Giant Ferris Wheel for a marvelous view over the city. Afterwards, you’ll be entertained by members of the 1st Viennese Heurigen show where you’ll hear the most famous Viennese songs and operettas.Dancing is encouraged! Europe Tour Day 10Train transfer to Prague and check-in into your hotel. Enjoy the highlight of this two-hour tour of Prague by night is the performance by Krizik’s Fountain. The spectacular combination of water jets, music and colored laser lights is simply amazing! A massive system of waterworks spouts delicate streams of colorfully lit water in a spectacular light show, choreographed to a soundtrack of classical and popular music. Europe Tour Day 11Train transfer to Munich and check-in into your hotel. Day at leisure and overnight in Munich.
Europe Tour Day 12Hidden in the seclusion of the Bavarian mountains, King Ludwig II built two of his dream castles, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Departing Munich, visit the smallest of three royal castles, Linderhof, which was built by King Ludwig II during the 19th century as a hunting lodge. Built in French Rococo style, the castle has a Moorish pavilion which can be visited during your two hour stay. You have the option to join a guided tour of the interior of Linderhof. After departing Linderhof, you will have a short shopping stop in Oberammergau, world-famous for its woodcarvers, richly painted houses (Luftl-paintings) and Passion On the approach to Neuschwanstein, it will quickly become clear as to why this magnificent neo-Romanesque style castle is the most well known castle in the world. It appears through the mist like something out of a fairytale, and you will not be surprised to hear that the man who conceived its design – King Ludwig II, was considered quite eccentric. If it all seems very familiar, it may be because the castle was the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. You will have four hours to explore the grounds of Neuschwanstein, and the option of joining a guided tour of the interior of the castles if you wish.
