DAY 01:

Sydney – Canberra

WELCOME to Australia and get greeted by our RLT Tour Representative! Depart Sydney this morning to the nation’s capital via the Southern Highlands with a stop at historic Berrima. Visit the exotic Gold Creek Station for a taste of country life by a local expert, including a Welcome Reception and an Aussie barbecue lunch. On arrival in Canberra you’ll visit Parliament House befor you start your dinner along with the fellow travellers. Overnight stay in Canberra.

Day 2:

Canberra – Beechworth

Today start your day with Cooma and the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme. This state-of-the-art visitor facility showcases the amazing story of the Snowy Mountains Scheme from the early construction days, to the role the Scheme plays today in the continuing development and growth of Australia. You’ll be awestruck by the stunningly picturesque Kosciuszko National Park – home to mobs of kangaroos – as you travel the Alpine Way, over the mighty Murray River into Victoria and beautiful Beechworth. Beechworth is North East Victoria’s best preserved gold rush town with its carefully restored colonial buildings and historic precinct. Its 19th century streets showcase an eclectic mix of galleries, collectables, handcrafts, old pubs, cafes and restaurants. Overnight stay in Beechworth.

Day 3:

Beechworth – Melbourne

Today, get to know Beechworth with a tour and some free time to explore the legendary Beechworth Bakery, as well as antique shops and galleries. Later see the museum then it’s on through Glenrowan and Ned Kelly country to culturally diverse and cosmopolitan Melbourne. Your evening is at leisure. Perhaps take a relaxing walk to Southbank for a stroll along the Yarra River. Overnight stay in Melbourne. australia-packages-outback

Day 4:

Melbourne

Today Melbourne is all yours to explore. You’ll have time to discover some of the secrets of this exceptional city – a myriad of cafés, galleries, museums, markets, restaurants, laneways and parks await you. If you wish to explore further afield you can join a tour to the famous Penguin Parade on Phillip Island, where you’ll watch the nightly ritual as the little penguins march up the sand to their nesting places. Or visit the Yarra Valley wineries, the Dandenongs and Puffing Billy or Sovereign Hill’s goldmine. Overnight stay at Melbourne.

Day 5:

Melbourne – Warrnambool

Seat back and today enjoy one of the world’s great road trips – “The Great Ocean Road”. You’ll get plenty of photo opportunities along this coastal road so make sure you have your camera ready. Visit the amazing Twelve Apostles, before finishing the day in the whale watching capital of Warrnambool. Overnight stay at Warnambool.

Day 6:

Warrnambool – Coonawarra

This morning visit Worn Gundidj at Tower Hill State Game Reserve. This area was a rich source of food for the Koroitgundidj people whose descendants have close connections with this country. Your local guide will give you an Aboriginal perspective about flora, wildlife, volcanic formations, bush existence and medicinal practices. Continue your journey along the coast through beautiful Port Fairy. Cross the South Australia border into Mt. Gambier for a city tour. Take a stop to view the magical Blue Lake then travel through Penola, birthplace of Mary McKillop, Australia’s first saint. Your final destination is Coonawarra. This place is particularly known for producing world-class red wines. You will also get a chance to sample some Wine before heading towards dinner. Overnight stay in Coonaawarra. australia-beaches

Day 7:

Coonawarra – Adelaide

Head north-west to Meningie, located on the shores of Lake Albert, en route to Adelaide. The afternoon is yours to explore the gorgeous ‘City of Churches’. Overnight stay in Adelaide.

Day 8:

Adelaide – Kangaroo Island

First up visit seaside Glenelg then you’ll continue on to the picturesque coastal village of Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Here you’ll have some free time to explore, maybe take a walk to Granite Island and see some sensational coastal views. Thereafter, take on a ferry to Kangaroo Island. Have dinner overlooking the spectacular Backstair Passage. Overnight stay at Kangaroo Islands.

Day 9:

Kangaroo Island Sights

Today you’ll explore Kangaroo Island! Head to Flinders Chase National Park for some great photo opportunities at the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. You’ll also have the chance to spot koalas, wallabies and kangaroos. You are invited to Andermel Marron Farm for a food and wine experience that captures much that is very special about Kangaroo Island. Andermel will host you with a visit to the Marron (freshwater crayfish) ponds and tanks. Taste some of their own Two Wheeler Creek wine and farmproduced bush tucker before sampling the Marron with lunch. Later, join a guided tour at the Seal Bay Conservation Park and walk among a breeding colony of Australian sea lions as they doze in the sun. Day 10:

Depart Adelaide

After breakfast get transferred by ferry from Kangaroo Island and thereafter by coach to Adelaide Airport to connect with your onward flight. It’s your last day in Australia. Bid goodbyes to our RLT Tour Manager. Be back for some more life long memories.
